Imodium, the anti-diarrheal is actually a synthetic opiate. Tramadol, which Shelby mentioned, is a fairly new pain med in this country. I take it for fibromyalgia. Although constipation is listed as a potential side-effect, I haven't noticed any problems with it, whereas codeine definitely stops me up. Tramadol is the generic name, the brand name is Ultram. It also comes combined with Tylenol, which is called Ultracet. I prefer it separate so I can adjust the dosage as needed. Hope this helps. -------------------- Laura Keep it simple!
