Dear Hearts; Samuamu has raised an important issue regarding those of us with both GERD and IBS/Crohn's relating to an AWFUL experience of mine.My GERD comes and goes,so I usually just take a lot of maximum strength Mylanta for it.But if course, that has long term risks with aluminum toxicity, etc. My internest has attempted several times to get me on proton pump suppressors like Nexium and Protonix.Although they work wonders for GERD,each time, within a few days of starting the medication,my insides feel like they've been scraped with sandpaper and become hypersensitive to the point where WATER sets off spasms! That and I have trouble digesting my food,no matter what I eat.My question-any people in here have the same problems with proton pump suppessors for GERD-it takes care of the acid, but wreaks havoc with the IBS? Sincerely, Andrew L.
