Welcome to the boards! First, if you took the peppermint capsules today with little problem, good news! Chances are it won't affect your GERD. Peppermint can cause problems with people with GERD. I don't know of anti spasmodics other than peppermint. There are lots of other things to help your IBS symptoms. Fennel is great for bloating, Ginger is great for nausea and an upset tummy, and chamomile is good all round. None of them are anti spasmodics, though. You might want to try them anyways. They're really helpful. Hopefully, since the peppermint oil capsules are in capsule form, they'll get down far enough into your stomach before it bursts, and won't affect your GERD. If you haven't had problems so far, I would say keep taking it! It will be abundantly obvious if they become a problem. Hugs, Han.
