Thanks for the welcome

As far as diet, I eat one that is fairly low in fat and high in fiber (I would say my breakdown looks like 60% carb, 20% protien, 20% fat with an average of 34 grams of fiber---I journal my diet, so this is pretty accurate). My dad, who also has IBS (along w/all his bros and sister), and I joke about the cream gravy all the time. My grandma makes it, but not a single one of us can eat it without getting sick, including her...everyone just sits there looking longingly at it while we eat dry toast and jam . Dunno why she bothers to make it anymore. As far as following the Eating for IBS Diet, no, I don't exactly because I so rarely have a problem with "normal" foods (referring here to whole foods, like whole grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, legumes, natural meats) are what I usually eat and they almost never give me any grief. It's the stress, whether from hard exercise or emotional issues, that really get to my gut. Like I said, other than seeds and grease---oh, and caffine, my stomach isn't triggered too easily by foods. I may try going on the IBS diet for a little while until my flare up blows over. I've done it before, but I wasn't having a flare up then (just thought I'd try it out), so I dunno how well it works for me. I just hate to have to go and buy white rice and white bread, ya know. It's just stuff I never keep in the house and will have to make a special trip to the store for. It does only seem to be a while I'm running thing, though (my IBSing dad said he had the same problem when he used to run marathons). I'm as close to normal as possible before and after. Funny you mention the Calcium plus D. Now that I think about it, this flare up started when I began taking a calcium plus D suppliment. Of course, I'd also come back from the doctor who told me my cholesterol was very high (and eating what I eat I about died!! What's the point of eating well and exercising if your total lipid count is 265?!), so I've been really upset waiting for the results of a new test (which should come today or tomorrow). Basically, I think it's the stress from that that is contributing to my problem while running. I've been running for a while and was never bothered before. So right now I'm looking at this as a temporary problem and hoping the the Immodium could be used every other day for a couple of weeks while my body calms itself down from the stress.
