I think your method of introducing soy "slowly" is about right. You could probably increase the amount after a few days, instead of a week, but go with how you feel - if it seems to be bothering you at 1/2 cup after a few days, then I'd say you're intolerant, and don't try to increase it... at least for now. And I say *that* because back when I was very sick with the IBS symptoms, I couldn't tolerate any soy at all. Now that I'm a little more stable, I can eat/drink ANYTHING soy with no problems.
