This low fat diet thing is so new to me, I've never had to worry about fat before - I weigh like 100 pounds and both my kids and husband are thin so I am not used to this! Besides, I really do feel that kids need their fat so I don't want to go too nuts but I am trying anything and everything out for my daughter.
I need a weekend off - I have been cooking and baking for the last 2 wks - some good and some not so good - especially trying to please a 6 yr old who is already set in her ways in her long 6 yrs of life, lol.
I would like to make Duncan Hines Brownies. They are dairy free. The box says for the lowfat recipe each serving (1 brownie) 7 g of fat (1.5 g of sat fat). Is that ok???
Also, I bought the veggie sticks at Trader Joes - my kids are used to them and already love them - they are made of potato flour, Sunflower, Safflower and/or soybean oil, tomato and spinach puree, wheat starch, rice flour, salt. One serving (which is alot of sticks) has 8 g of fat (1.5 sat fat) and less than 1 g of fiber. Am I ok with this too?
