July 28 is MY BIRTHDAY! Congrats on your baby, especially on having him on such a cool day.
Canker sores are the absolute worst. I just had one that lasted more than 10 days, and was huge, on the inside of my bottom lip. It hurt SO much. I found I really like the Orajel medicated swabs. They do a good job. My friend also sufferes from canker sores, and her dad, a dentist, prescribed her liquid lidocaine. Obviously I don't know if you are breastfeeding, and if these things are okay if you are, so ask your doc. But, while you have a sore, avoid sugary sweets, and anything citrus, as they can aggravate the sore. The chemicals in pineapple are supposed to do something to help prevent the formation of sores, so if you can have a tiny glass each day, that might help. While you have the sore, rinsing with salt water is very helpful. If you can stand the pain, rinsing with Listerine is supposed to be very good for it.
