Hey Linz and JenX,

I just went for my follow-up visit for Fibro and want to know if the info my doc gave me seems right. He said that it isn't progressive but it will peak between 35-45 years of age? Doesn't peak mean get worse just in a nicer way? I don't want to get worse!

He told me to exercise, so I did. I went walking last night and today I hurt worse then usual.

I told him I can't sleep still and I was taking Benadryl just to get to sleep. He said not to take Benadryl it is counter effective. He prescribed me Flexeril, have either of you heard of this? I researched it and it use is for pulled or strained muscles. How is that going to help me since Fibro feels like a strain or pull but there isn't actually a strain or pull? He also said it has a sedative effect to help me sleep. I took it last night and I slept, not much better, but this morning I was falling asleep at the wheel of the car on the way to work. He also upped my dosage of Effexor to 150mg and said that would help me sleep as well? I just want to SLEEP and I think I will feel 99% better. And none of these meds are for sleeping. I don't want to take something OTC and get addicted, but I do want to sleep soundly for one night.

Sometimes I wonder if the docs are listening to me. He is really a good doc and he knows a lot about Fibro but I don't think he is hearing me when I say I NEED SLEEP. OH G_D PLEASE LET ME SLEEP!! REAL SLEEP!!!

I have another follow-up visit in a month. He wants me to have a visit once a month until I get back on my feet. I also asked him how is it that some people are in such excruciating (sp?) pain and can't function and then others are like me in mild discomfort but can still function? He didn't really know how to answer this, do you guys know why?
