The basics of healthers diet ARE constipating but are very good foods to base an ibs diet on as they are easy to digest, and ibs constipation is not so much about the fibre in the diet as it is also about the way to muscles move and what provokes them to go into spasm. I would try eating the white rice etc, but with a big plate of cooked root vegies. I would substitute one slice of white bread with one slice of freshly baked wholewheat. So start the diet with a little more insoluble fibre....have you tried drinking loads of peppermint tea first thing when you wake up???
