I am new to this forum, but notice that discussion seems to be geared towards the IBS-D types. I am IBS-C...never have diahorrea (wish I could sometimes ).... but suffer a lot with bloating and inability to go to the bathroom on my own. I have been diagnosed for about 3-4 years, and have found little relief. My medication is losing its effectiveness, and I wondered if anyone had recommendations on how to proceed. It seems I get bloating and pain quite regularly, but now seem only able to go to the bathroom if I take a laxative. I do not want to become dependent on these. Metamucil does not work for me... in fact, it makes me feel bloated and worse.
Any advice on where to start? I was concerned that the diet was primarily suited to those with IBS-C. I thought white rice was constipating?
