I was IBS free at an out of town conference!

I just spent a week at a conference where I had little control over my food choices as meals were small buffets. Almost all the entrees had creamy sauces on them and one day my lunch choice was a hot ham and cheese croissant or a roasted pepper and cheese quesadilla plus green salads plus cream of cauliflower soup!! Argh -- just terrible choices for someone with IBS-D! I took two psyllium before each meal and brought cereal and soy milk for breakfast and ate white rolls or potatoes first whenever possible and had absolutely no IBS symptoms, just as I had none when on vacation in July and August. So evidently living at home gives me IBS!!! Unlike my vacations, this conference trip was not stress free -- although it's different stresses than at home for sure.

It's frustrating. I follow my diet rigorously at home and have problems if I veer even slightly from the path. If I leave town, I can eat high fat and dairy foods with little problem. I even had creme brulee for dessert one night!!!

I'd like to hear from others who are in similar boats.
