Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I haven't been on in a few weeks because I am now working full time and I am also taking a class at the university. I don't seem to have much free time these days.

Lately, I am feeling very down about having IBS and the whole food thing. I feel hungry but nothing appeals to me. I am tired of worrying about food and having an attack. I am so tired of having to live my life around what I eat. I have found over the years that I really do hate food and only eat because I have too.

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself right now. I just wish that I was normal and could enjoy life without all these worries. At times I feel like I just don't have the energy to make all the special foods that I have to eat, and I am growing weary with IBS and how it makes me feel physically. Maybe this is why I have no interest in following the diet.

Has anyone else experienced these feelings? It is almost impossible for me to talk to anyone about all of this because they will never know what I am going through. Most people cannot understand why eating is such a big deal.
