I have been mostly an observer on this site. I must say I have found some wonderful information.
I know everyone has their own story. Some good - some bad.
My challenge began with flu induced colitis. After being hospitalized due to dehydration and having every test ( ct scans, stool samples, blood work, upper and lower endoscopy's) I was released with the diagnosis of IBS.
Sent home with anti spasm meds. Told to stay on a low fat diet.
I also suffer with extreme anxiety and have been taking Zoloft and Xanax for years.
Well to say the least the extreme pain I was having kept me out of work for over a month. (Lucky I have the best boss in the world).
My surfing brought me here.
I started Heather's diet about a month ago and Tummy fiber a week ago along with Peppermint tea.
I never did have extreme diarrhea. Mostly the cramping and nausea which knocked me out to the point I could only lay on my couch and suffer. They came on and off with no explanation.
I just wanted to say that the cramps are almost entirely gone. I only get slight cramps in the morning and once I do the bathroom thing they are gone. I have not taken any anti spasm meds in weeks
At this point I am still on mostly pasta, oatmeal, fish, chicken and I eat small amounts all day long.
Found all the name brands safe snacks are working for me also.
I also bought Yoga tapes but have not started that yet.
Saw a psychiatrist and he has changed me to Lexapro and will be weaning me off Xanax.
Am I cured? Who knows. As I tell all of the wonderful support people I have around me, I am just so grateful not to be in pain.
Just wanted to thank Heather for this place and all the great information posted by members.
