Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Thank you Sand and Syl for your input in this matter. I did some searching on the web, and on one site it stated Acacia fiber can be acidic, but there is always such conflicting information out there it is difficult to know what to believe. All one can do is see how things effect us on an individual/personal basis.
My family doctor thinks I have IBS based on my present stress level. The first time I had these symptoms (about 10 years ago) they took out my gall bladder. It didn't help but eventually I got better. The second time was after my mother passed away and that bout lasted for several months. My family doctor feels this is presently due to my husband losing his job, which is when it all started, but he is back to work now and I am still having symptoms...the anxiety now is because I don't feel well.
My doctor gave me Vistaril for anxiety which helps some (at least with sleep.) He tried me on Lexapro, Buspar and Librax but they made me dizzy and blurred my vision and since I must drive my daughter to school, this was not beneficial.
