Hi guys, I'm new here and have been suffering with ibs for about 15 years, I'm 30.
I have found that for me alcohol, coffee and spicy food are the worst,they cause me to have a real bad burning sensation in my lower colon and when defecating, what seems to help is pepto bismols and chamomile tea and not eating all day, when this happens.
My symptoms are usually constipation, bloating, some diarrhea immediately after meals, and burning in lower colon after certain meals.
I have found that fiber is the only thing that helps but not completely. I m on my 5th day of twice a day 6mg of Zelnorm and nothing yet. I had bad diarreah and headaches the first 2 days now I feel fine.
My worst problem right now is incontinence halfways through meals or minutes after having finished. This new problem just appeared about 2 years ago, I told the G.I specialist and he said nothing, just said to keep taking my fiber and the Zelnorm.
What do you guys think is causing this and what can I do to stop it, again it just appeared 2 years back. I eat and bam, explosive diarreah. I too have too many stools a day and only go a bit. 3 in the morning 2 in the afternoon and 1 at night, somedays its 6-10.
Also it seems like my rectum muscles are not working, sometimes i feel like having a big bowel movement and it all becomes stuck there and compacted and only a skinny thread like stool comes out.
Please any suggestion will be greatly appreciated, especially with the explosive diarreah after in the middle of a meal or after eating.
