I'm an extrovert all the way. My mother said I started flirting at the age of 4! I knew some thing was wrong (before I was tested for what seemed like everything and was diagnosed with IBS) when I didn't want to do ANYTHING with ANYONE anymore. It took complete control of my life. I didn't do anything except go to work, barely make it through the day, come home and be on the couch the rest of the night. NO social life for someone that was quite social. It was actually to the point that I thought that if my life was going to be this way, I didn't think I wanted to live it (I was NOT suicidal, just frustrated). At that point, I did something about it and went to my first doctor. He, of course, brushed me off telling me to take some medicine when I felt the "pain" coming on. Whatever. I cried for 2 days out b/c I was so mad. I found another doctor that I really like. Even though my doctor has spent a lot of time with me, I've gotten the best results from this website so far. I love it!
I'm also a teacher. I teach Middle School Health and PE....people told me I would HATE the middle school age, but I love them, and love my job. Plus, I've talked about IBS in my Health classroom so maybe more people will have respect for the disease (I have a student who was recently diagnosed with it). Plus, I teach 4 PE classes a day so I'm always up moving, with I think is beneficial for me AND my IBS.
Wow, long post. I must have gotten into a flow!
