I am wondering if anyone knows what poses were used in that study Heather sent in her last newsletter. The one that compared yoga with using imodium. I am very interested in giving this a try.

and here's the study itself Yoga for IBS but the names are in Sanskrit. You could maybe do a google search for the Sanskrit names and see if that pops up the English equivalent of the poses, with pictures. Or ask a yoga teacher at your local school. You can also check the Yoga for IBS section of the website for specific poses with pictures.

Pawanmuktasana is in it self an entire program with several exercises. Does anyone know if that is the meaning of that word here?

I believe these are common English names of the poses:
Vajrasana – thunderbolt pose
Shashankasana – hare pose
Ushtrasana – camel pose
Marjariasana – cat stretch pose
Padhastasana – forward bending pose
Dhanurasana – bow pose
Trikonasana in two variations – triangle pose (there are several versions)
Pawanmuktasana – this is an entire program (with three parts, one digestive/abdominal group).
Paschimottanasana – back stretching pose
Surya Nadi pranayama – this is a breathing exercise
