hello! i am new to posting here-- briefly: ive been dealing with IBS since i was 16 [nearly 3 years] i am constanly looking for extra activities and hobbies to take up the void from the pain of my condition so i can focus less on food. yoga has been something i have been very curious about but theres so many types that im not sure where to start! for the yoga-doers here..how does it work out for you?? does it really help?? does it also give you a statisfying work out as well? and what types would you recommend to start out with for a beginner? *THANKYOU!!* so much for any helpful hints and suggestions that you can offer! ashley-lauren

Hi Ashley-Lauren! Sorry this post has gone unanswered for so long, but hopefully you'll pop in here at some point and see this reply. I actually just recommended a yoga program to another person here . I've done a couple different tapes/programs, and so far, this is the best one by far. And it is definitely a workout!! I'm still barely able to go beyond the easiest routine (basically just warmup and cooldown), and I'm really not in awful shape!
Hope that helps a little!

I'd jut make sure you start with a yoga class that is NOT power yoga. Hatha, Iyengar....
I recommend the "OM: Yoga in a Box" CD set for beginners. Absolutely great. I've even just got my DH hooked using this!
