Is there a website that lists up the amount of soluble and insoluble fiber for different foods?

Good question hope someone has the answer!
Along the same lines... I wonder what is the recommended grams of fiber we should take in one day.

Try posting this in the IBS diet board. Also, I think that the recommended daily fiber intake is 25-30 grams. If you go over that is fine. I think that Heather even stated in her book that some groups of people (asian) get in 65-70 grams of fiber per day.

If you eat this many calories a day: Your daily dietary fiber needs are: 1,600 - 20 grams* 2,000 - 25 grams 2,200 - 30 grams 2,500 - 25 grams 2,800 - 30 grams * 20 grams is the minimum amount of fiber recommended for all calorie levels below 2,000.
Also, here is a great post by Heather that breaks down how to tell how much of each kind of fiber is in each food. Hope it helps! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I posted this question on the diet board also, but nobody responded. At least some people have responded to this post, although no list.
I looked at Heather's link but I don't see any listings of insoluble/soluble fiber amount in each food.
Although not a long list, I have finally found one website that lists soluble fiber separately from the insoluble. Yay!
Here is the link.

Thank you ibsgrl!
With two documents combined, we have a pretty good listing of foods!

It's not a bad list, even if it does come from Metamucil... but remember, all of the lists you find are going to vary slightly. Even food chemists can't agree on a standard and the FDA has no guidelines, that I'm aware of, at this point in time.
