Hi all, does anyone have a homemade recipe for protein bars that won't irritate my stomach....the only one i've found that comes close is peanut butter-honey-oatmeal(uncooked)-and soy protein powder. I'm a little worried about using the uncooked oatmeal and peanut butter. Does anyone think that oatmeal uncooked would be bad for my guts......

HI!

Even though I LOVE oatmeal in all shapes and forms, I noticed that when I used uncooked oats in my pumpkin oatmeal cookies, I got MAJOR stomachaches and gas big-time! This is now a no-no food for me. My mom says that it does the same thing to her.

I think it's pretty common for people to respond bad to raw oats. I seem to be fine with instant oatmeal, though.

Hope this helps!

Does it have to be bars? There are loads of other ways you could have portable protein snacks...soy desserts, chicken sandwiches...

Raw oats really irritate me as well. Could you add some protein powder to RKTs?
