1 tbsp. oil 1 c. long grain rice 14 1/2 oz. veggie broth 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. pumpkin from a can
1 scallion minced In saucepan over high heat, cook rice in oil stirring frequently. Stir in broth, pumpkin, cinnamon. Reduce to low. Bring to boil, reduce to low, cover, simmer 30 min. Stir in scallion. Makes 6 1/2 c. servings.

Can you please confirm that you really reduce to low then bring to a boil, reduce to low again OR just Bring to boil, reduce to low.

Shell, if I had to guess, I'd say bring to a boil, then reduce to low - I'd skip that first reduce to low. But, hopefully Angel will pop in and confirm it for you.

How about this, reduce the heat before you add the broth, pumpkin and cinnimon so it doesn't splatter? Maybe is was a matter of misplacing the words? I would do what Mags said and skip the first reducing of heat.
