I've made this many times and it's never given me a problem-it's easy and delicious! Shrimp with garlicky tomato glaze-Ingredients: 3 TBLS olive oil ( you could probably use even less) 2 TBLS tomato paste 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp salt 1 pound large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined Combine all ingredients except shrimp. Add shrimp and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for an hour. Remove shrimp from marinade and grill till pink all over, 6-8 minutes, turning once. I put a sheet of tinfoil on grill and poke with holes so clean up is easy.

We made this for dinner last night and it was delicious! I marinated the shrimp, then we skewered them, and grilled them outside on the BBQ.
I didn't have anything called "red pepper flakes" so I used the same amount of "Red Chile Pepper - Crushed". The recipe turned out very spicy-hot. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be or if my substitute was much, much hotter. Can someone tell me the difference between the two?
My DH loved it just the way it was. I thought it was delicious, but I'd tone down the spicy-hot and add a little extra garlic.
Changes: I used 2 Tablespoons of oil instead of 3.

I made this for dinner last night and made extra and we had it cold for lunch. It's really good that way, too! In fact, while we were eating lunch, my DH asked if I'd posted how good this was. I already have, but it seemed worth mentioning it makes a great lunch, too. BTW, I really cut down on the red pepper flakes, to less than 1/4 teaspoon.

I made this last night. I reduced the red pepper flakes to a scant 1/4 teaspoon and used 3 garlic cloves instead of 2. I skewered them and we grilled them outside and served them with thyme-flavored bread.

We just bought the bread - our local grocery store sells focaccia (check the fat content, these usually are brushed with olive oil).
If you want to make your own bread, I like this recipe and you can add herbs if you want: web page
