I have purchased a small rice cooker for work that also has the ability to steam at the same time. I was wondering if any of you have ideas of what I can make with it. I was thinking of making a large batch of something on sunday and then reheating it through the week. Lately I have just been doing rice with a few carrots. I am sensative to spice, so nothing too hot!!!
Thank you for any help!!

I cook my rice in chicken broth (watch out for MSG in some of the products) or vegetable broth, add little bits of green onions or any vegetable you can tolerate; I'm IBS-D and this works for me. Good luck....CMB

ditto this. I also like to steam my veggies on the top portion, or even steam fish in the top basket. Sometimes I even just put frozen veggies in the actual pot of the rice cooker and boil them!

when you say broth do you mean instead of water? Or half water half broth? That is a great idea, I never would have thought about it!!!
Would celery be okay? Say cut up and steam with carrots?
Thank you

I mix some vegetable soup in when I cook my rice. Just a littel different some times rather than just having plain rice. --------------------- IBS-D, Diverticulosis
