After asking about breakfast ideas, a poster mentioned crockpot oatmeal. I went out and bought a crockpot and made some oatmeal for this morning. It didn't come out very well. I put two cups of oatmeal, 6 cups of water, some cinnamon and brown sugar. When I woke up this morning it appeared as though all of the brown sugar formed a solid mass on top and didn't absorb into the oatmeal. I added some more before I ate it, but it just wasn't that great. Does anyone have any good crockpot oatmeal recipes?

I posted that note. I believe it is 2 cups oats and 4 1/2 cups water with a dash of salt. If you like your oatmeal dryer add less water maybe 4 cups. You must buy non-instant oats. Add the sugar before you eat it, not in the pot. I like to add dried apples and a dash of cinnamon. If you want something like blueberries add them at the last hour or so of cooking. cook on low.

Try the food network Alton Brown one but use soy milk instead of cream. Also make sure to not use a crockpot that is too big- it will burn the oatmeal. It is best with steel cut oats or other meaty oats.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
