You can find chocolate chips that do not have dairy. At least some - possibly all - of the Ghiradelli brand chips don't and your store's house brand may be dairy-free as well.

Tropical source by sunspire. It is 100% dairy-free and gluten free also. They are really good. Plus they are smaller chips. Not quite mini but smaller. You have to get them at health food stores.

You could melt down chocolate chips. Then add some soy milk and let it harden on wax paper. Break it off into chunks but that is a lot of work. My husband did this only ONCE. You could just eat a few chips. Check your Health Food Store, they are bound to have something.

Lots of people on the Boards really like Luna Bars:
web page
They're not going to taste like a Hershey bar or anything like that, but if you find a chocolate-y flavor you like, they might do.
Also, if you're reasonably stable you can probably manage to eat a small piece of real chocolate every day - Heather says she does. I love Lindt bars - especially the hazelnut - and they're scored into little pieces you can break off. Just be sure to stick to a small piece and eat it later in the day when you've got a good base of food in you and your digestive engine is up and running smoothly. I figure eating only a little bit every day means splurging on pricier chocolate bars than the ones I would buy if I were going to eat it all in one sitting.

Coincidentally, I just put a post about this very thing in the general Eating for IBS board a few weeks ago - I have gotten the TerraNostra Organic Ricemilk Choco bar a couple of times to ease a rare milk chocolate craving (I usually want dark chocolate). They are the closest thing to a good ol' chocolate bar that I have found. I get them at Feel-Rite Food Mart. They are expensive, but since I don't buy them often, I allow myself the treat!
