hello, i wanted to ask, if anyone knows, how to substitute coffee?? Thank you for any ideas.

I can't answer your question, but I'd love to know the answer for myself! I usually only have 1 cup a day when I'm feeling stable, but when I'm not stable it can wreak havoc. I miss my coffee, though, if I can't have it! Hopefully someone will have an answer.

Do you mean in cooking or as a replacement for your morning cuppa coffee?
If you mean the latter, there are a couple of substitutes out there. I use Teecino. It's an herbal blend, non caffinated. It's a suitable substitute. If you search "Teecino" or "coffee substitute" on the diet board, a number of posts should come up.
If you are looking for a substitute for cooking with coffee, on pg. 12 of Eating for IBS, Heather says Quote:
Small amounts of instant coffee/espresso powder, used as an ingredient in cooking, are usually completely tolerable.
