I actually got this out of my little sister's cookbook lol.
Chocolate Cake
3c all-purpose flour 2c sugar 1/2 c cocoa 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 2/3 c oil 2 tsp vineger 1 tsp vanilla 2c cold water
1. Preheat the oven to 350. Grase two round 9x1 1/2 inch pans and dust them with flour. 2. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. 3. In a seperate bowl, mix the oil, vinegar, and vanilla together. Then add the oil mixture and the water to the flour mixture, beating hard until it's all well blended. Then, immediately pour the batter into the pans, dividing evenly. 4. Bake about 35 minutes, then let it cool for 10. Remove them from the pans, then let them cool completely. Stack them and frost either with the confectioner's sugar frosting or with the Seven-Minute Frosting that's in the Index.

Hey - I just thought I'd say that in Step 2 it's written to add baking powder instead of baking soda, that's wrong! Go with baking soda, I tried it out and that's the one to use. Stupid book!!

I just made this chocolate cake for my son's birthday -- it's REALLY, REALLY good! It's even better than cake mixes I've used in the past -- a definite winner! I used a 9x13" cake pan & just cooked it 10 minutes longer. Delicious! Thanks for posting this recipe!
