So...I tried to find something on this site...maybe there is another site I can find this at...but...how do you figure out how much canola oil is equal to butter/margarine?

I usually go by volume, so I use the same volume (say 1 tbsp) canola oil as I would butter (or vice versa).
If a recipe calls for x tablespoons of oil, just use x tablespoons of whatever you have.

Keep in mind the texture -- if the margarine is going to be melted anyway, it usually doesn't matter, but in some recipes (usually cookies and doughs), the margarine needs to be somewhat firm and a liquid (oil) may not yield favorable results.
Also, a tablespoon of oil has 14g fat and margarine is usually a little less (11-12g fat), which could possibly make somewhat of a difference in a recipe.

New here, but I know this one:
When converting a solid fat to canola oil, use the following:
Solid Oil 1 cup 3/4 c 3/4 cup 2/3 c 1/2 c 1/3 c 1/3 c 1/4 c 1/4 c 3 Tablespoons
(From the Northern Canola Growers Association, www.northerncanola.com)
