I am, at best, a novice in the kitchen...so, I tried to make one of the more simple snacks in Eating for IBS - the honey glazed chex mix. Here's my problem - when it cooled, it hardened so much in the bowl that it became one giant snack - not really easy to pick apart or separate out for snacks. Any ideas why? Did I add too much (or have too little) of the honey or canola oil? Suggestions for the cooling process? Did I maybe cook it too long (I only did about 5.5 min)?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I make BATCHES of this stuff every week! I know exactly what you mean; you did nothing wrong. Just try to stir it periodically while it's cooling.

This is normal.
I spread mine out on waxed paper while it is cooling. It's easier to break up after it's cooled.
