I saw that, about your pic. If you're having trouble with it and you want to, just email it to the address in my profile - I can resize it for you.

Sinead - did you ever try freezing smoothies? I want to give it a try - I'd like to be able to mix up a batch every couple of nights and take them out of the freezer in the morning to bring to work with me. Just wondering if you had any luck with freezing them or if you have any suggestions before I just jump in

I used to freeze mine -- they were strawberries/banana/rice milk. They were a little "icy" when they thawed, but otherwise they were fine.
When I was younger we didn't have an Orange Julius in the town where we lived, so when we made a trip to a town 45 miles away, we'd always bring a few extra Orange Juliuses home and freeze them. They were fine, but again, seemed a bit icy.

I used to LOVE Orange Julius!!!!!
I'm going to get some fruit this weekend for smoothies and try freezing them to see how it goes. Two things I have to figure out are - what should I freeze them in? I think I need to find a few sport bottles with a straw....and also, how long will they take to thaw out? If I take out of freezer at 7am, will they be thawed enough to drink before lunch...say at like 10ish...

You can freeze them, but if they have banana in them they turn kind of a dark color, if you don't mind looking at it they're fine though. Fresh are much better of course!

Ooh, it's been a long time since I've thawed them ... but I think that at room temperature, they thawed within an hour, if not sooner. If you move from the freezer to the fridge, not sure how long it'd take. Experimenting at home would definitely be a good idea. I drank mine at home, so I just froze mine in plastic glasses. You can always freeze them in ice-cube trays.

I'm going to first go to Target. They usually have really cool sports bottles - so I'll see if I can find a couple with straws.
I think what I am going to try is making a smoothie with enough for 2 or 3 servings. I'm going to freeze HALF in ice cube trays and the other half I will just pour into the sports bottles and put in the fridge. Then when I am ready, I will take one out of the fridge and put a bunch of the ice cubes in it.
Does that sound like it would work? If anyone thinks it won't PLEASE feel free to jump in. I'm new at this, so any feedback before I make a disaster is appreciated

I made a batch of smoothies last night at around 7pm. I put half in the fridge and froze the other half in ice cube trays. At 7am this morning I put the ice cubes into the smoothie and I left for work. I am happy to say that I am sipping my smoothie now and it is FABULOUS!!!! So in case there is any question - yes, this way works
I ended up getting some nice sports bottles that are made by thermos, so they are keeping the smoothie nice and cold, but allowing the ice cubes to melt enough to be able to drink it through the straw!

Sorry I never got back, I missed this, My banana milk smoothie went very brown and yuck when I froze it, now I just keep frozen berries in the freezer and have a dishwasher safe smoothie blender so I make them in the morning.

I buy a huge bag of frozen strawberries at Sam's Club and then put 10 strawberries in a baggie. I make up 10-20 baggies at a time so that in the morning I can throw my soy milk, banana, strawberries and honey in a blender. It takes up precious little time so I can make my smoothie and start my day.

Sam's Club is a great idea. That's where I bought my bananas and strawberries this time around. I cut them all up and froze them in separate baggies as you suggested! It works well for me so far!
Making them in the morning before work is basically not an option for me. I leave myself NO time to do anything extra, as I like my sleep very much
