I'm curious. Is there such a thing as RICE milk powder? And if so has anyone tried it or know of a source? I did a search and only came up with a rice milk powder by A&B but not a place to buy it, not even on line. Thanks, Kandee

I use Better than Milk. Here's a page you can see info on it: web page.
I use it in my bread machine when a recipe calls for powdered milk, but I've never mixed it into the drink form so I don't know how that is. I bought it at Whole Foods.

You're a jewel, Mags. Thank you so much. You always come through for everyone. Now the next question. Have you ever seen a recipe for a substitute sweetened condensed milk using a rice beverage product, dry or liquid? Looking at a can of Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk I noticed it uses just milk and sugar. Bet you could cook down the rice milk and sugar and come up with a decent substitute. My thinking was the rice powder would make it easier since you can make it as concentrated as you like by reducing the water.
Off to the nearest Whole Foods……………………Well, not right away, it's about a 3 hr. drive away…maybe I'll just mail order it.
Thanks again…………..Kandee

Our Safeway's closed a few years back and right now the major grocery chains are on strike. Folks are getting clobbered just crossing picket lines. We're not sure how long it will go on. No problem however, getting the rice milk powder now that I know WHAT to ask for. My local health food store will order it or I can mail order it, but THANKS for the Safeway suggestion.
So Cal doesn't always have "it all" like some folks think….

If you check on the recipe index under dair subs, there are a couple recipes there. But, if you come up with a new one, be sure to let us know!
PS: Thanks for the compliment!
