I posted this on the other board and did not get a response. This tea is listed on the safe list. On the box it says to contact your doctor before drinking the tea if you are on prescription meds. I take symax duotab (anti-spasmodic) and didn't know if its really necessary to call my GI. Does anyone know why the box instructs you to do this?

I am just guessing, but maybe it's the amount of mint or something that would affect GERD or reflux medications?
About a year ago when I was taking Levsin daily, I also drank Tummy Mint tea with no ill effects. I would look up what possible reactions are listed for your prescription.

It's basically the same as levsin. I was on hyoscamine and switched to these because the insurance didn't cover the hyo. I'm really trying to get off of it anyway. I don't have GERD or any upper GI issues so it will probably be fine. Thank you for your response.

I had also talked to my pharamsist one day and she informed me that some herbs may interfer with birth control pills. Peppermint is not one of those herbs thankfully, but that is a poss. idea...

Certain herbs in teas cause problems for those with allergies. Also, certain herbs in teas can cause problems/interfere with anti-depressant drugs.
Kate, IBS-D.
