I made some wheat free pancakes but didn't want the normal syrup. So I sliced a peeled apple, 5 strawberries, just a pat of butter, tablespoon of honey, and almost a teasspoon of cinnamon. I cooked this in a deep pan with the lid on over very low heat till the apples were almost falling apart. This I put over the pancakes. Before this IBS I would have wanted lots of butter on the pancakes but with this I felt no need for any. I was worried it would cause a problem but didn't have any problems that day. "Even hubby said he would take his pancakes this way from now on" Tillie PS Heather If anyone has any problems with this topping please remove it.

Butter isn't safe for IBS'ers, because it's a dairy product. Substitute a dairy-free margarine instead, and you're good to go!
Sounds delicious! I've never tried apples and strawberries in combination. Yum. I also like sauteed bananas - bananas, a little brown sugar, a tablespoon or so of water, and cinnamon/nutmeg to taste. They cook really fast and practically melt in your mouth - so good!
