I'm back from a trip that included a month in Alabama right on the Gulf - beautiful - and a brief stay in Houston, then home via Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia, and so on. I can see y'all have posted some new recipes that look great - I can't wait to try them.
I did some cooking for family and friends while I was away and there were two dishes I made that got rave reviews:
Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes - I made these for Thanksgiving and they went over great. I made them in a 9x13 pan and it occurred to me - too late - that I could probably have put some pineapple slices on top to dress the dish up a little.
CrockPot Bourbon Breast of Chicken - Big favorite, even with people who turn their noses up at anything even vaguely "low fat"
I also came home with a few new recipes to try - as soon as I get unpacked!

Hey Sand!
I was just thinking of you this morning when I made my tea. I was wondering when you were coming back and I have no idea why. And now here you are! LOL Weird. (Maybe it was because I was having some Rainbow Rooibos... )
Welcome back...glad you had a good trip. Can't wait to hear about those new recipes after you unpack!

It must have been the strong disturbance in the Force when I entered New Jersey. Welcome back...glad you had a good trip. Thanks - it's good to be back - home and on the Recipe Board. The kitchen where we were staying was teensy - I actually missed being able to cook a lot. You have no idea how strange that it for me. Can't wait to hear about those new recipes after you unpack! At the rate things are going, that will be sometime in 2007. And I didn't really think through the implications of returning home just two weeks before Christmas - panicking now!
