I posted on the diet board but no response. My question is what ingredients should I watch out for? Is there soy cheese out there with out casein? I have bought 2 and they both have that in it. On food labels should I keep and eye out for anything ?? I'm new to the diet. I just want to make sure I'm doing it right! Hope someone will respond

There is soy cheese without casein, but apparently even Heather says she hasn't found one that is edible. Some can tolerate the soy with casein - some can't. This is one of those things you just have to try for yourself and see how you do.
The only things I can think of right now to watch out for is any dairy (including casein, whey, and lactose), and if you're sensitive, citric acid and high fructuose corn syrup. Whole wheat (not just wheat), artifical sweeteners, and watch your fat content.
That's all I can think of for now. It does seem hard at first, but after awhile, it just becomes second nature, and you usually pick things out on the label right away. If there is something you want, but aren't sure of, post the ingredients and we'll help you figure it out.

Honestly, the first I ever heard of Heather was about a year ago. But, I read The First Year more than once. It's SO much info, that every time I read it again, I picked up something that hadn't sunk in the first time.
I promise it gets easier! I'm sure there are a lot of folks around here that will tell you the same.
