I have always loved salads and one of my favorite ingredients was bacon bits. Does anyone else eat the bacos from Betty Crocker? The ingredients are defated soy flour partially hydrogenated soybean oil water salt sugar artificial and natural flavor red 40 and other colored added soy sauce(water wheat soybeans salt) hydrolyzed vegetable protein (corn soy wheat) Is this by IBS standards that we can eat this? Someone please tell me yes. :crazy

yeah.. baco bits are fine. they actually don't contain any meat at all and I eat them often. I sometimes even make paninis and sprinkle bacon bits on the turkey to make it seem like a club sandwich with bacon. its very yummy.

Hydrolyzed vegetable protein may (does?) contain MSG (WebSite). Some IBSers are sensitive to artificial flavors and to dyes added to foods. If you have no problems with these ingredients, they should be fine. And I'd think the amounts would be small relative to the amount of salad. (BTW, I eat salads occasionally and do fine, but - you do know that the raw IF in salads themselves can be problematic for some IBSers?)
HTH.
