Here is a "milkshake" I've made for breakfast or a snack.
Low-Fat Vanilla or Chocolate Shake
1/2 cup peeled sliced banana, preferably frozen 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 1 cup ice, crushed 1 cup plain soy milk 1 tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)
Put the sliced banana, vanilla, ice, milk, and honey into the blender and blend until smooth. Serves 2. --adapted from _The Healthy Kitchen_

This was really good. I made it for my daughters and they loved it. I will have to stock my freezer with frozen bananas. The only problem I always have when I make smoothies or "milkshakes" is the honey always sticks to the side of the blender and becomes thick. Any suggestions?

This has happened to me too. I've found that if I first blend everything together without the honey, then carefully take off the blender lid while the motor is running, I can drizzle in the honey in a thin stream and it gets incorporated without sticking to the sides.

Could you use strawberries in this? Kristina (Step daughter just diagnosed with IBS. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about what we can do for foods when she's here to visit at the end of July. Please forgive any dumb questions.)

Yes, strawberries should be fine, but make sure you blend the mix till very smooth so the little seeds are finely ground.
