I made 2 cups of rice in my Rice Cooker two diferent times and I followed the directions and both times the rice was hard. I keep it in for a total of 45 minutes (first on warm, then it goes to cook), I put 2 cups water and then let it cook. What am I doing wrong?

I would try using for example 1 cup rice and 1-1/2 cup water. See how that turns out.

Does it have a button that you push in or a "timer" what brand is it?
I would think the same amount of time would be ok....

I forget the name of the brand (I am at work), but it doesn't have a timer only Warm and Cook. It is a small 7 cup Rice Cooker.

mine also just has a warm and cook button.. however, it should shut off automatically.. if you press down cook.. it should switch to warm by itself.. 45 minutes seems awfully long.. mine is usually done 15 mins max. thats strange.

It does switch to warm. How long do you keep your's in for and how much water do you put in for 2 cups say for example? Thanks

Does it turn off by itself? Does it cook and THEN go to warm? If so, once it goes to warm... it should be done, you might at that point remove the lid and let it set for just a few minutes and then fluff with a fork.

I usually take it out as soon as it turns to warm. I think warm is just there to let you keep it warm if you dont' want to eat it right away.. generally though I don't make it until I need it, so I usually don't leave it in there too long.
I usually put equal parts rice/water.. so two cups rice, i'd do two cups water.. maybe a few tsps extra water.
