just wondered if it was safe to use a split pea mix, with chicken broth, carrots, potatoes?

it is just a bag of split peas, that you add ingredients to. They are green, so I think that they are actually peas. I just wanted to check with someone, to make sure they were safe. I had a small bowl, at my daughters, and I was ok, but I would like to cook a pot of them, but didn't want to cause myself grief, if they aren't ok to eat.

I think you should be fine with homemade split pea soup... I believe it would count as mostly insoluble, so just be sure to have some good bread with it.
I love split pea soup!

Split pea gave me wicked gas even before I had IBS, so DEFINITELY treat it as insoluble, and handle with care!

This mix is extremely good and is safe but I can only eat a cup with other safe food, if I have a bowl I just don't feel so good. I buy it at Vons (which is owned by Safeway.)
Good luck, Leigh
