Today is moving day. The movers show up at one of our storage facilities (where there is no bathroom) in 1-1/2 hours. Good news, right?
Wrong. First it was the shingles, then it was the sprained back. Well, last night I came down with another damn UTI! Oh man, I absolutely CANNOT handle stress. My body really lets me down when I need it the most. Why haven't I come down with an IBS attack? That's probably next....
I took 2 Cystex last night and drank a ton of water, spent all night long peeing, got little sleep, this morning I'm trying to drown it with cranberry juice....
ARGGGGHHHHH!!!
1-1/2 hours. 1-1/2 hours. OMG! Calm yourself, Bev. Calm yourself.
AHLMMMMMMM......
Guys, what do you do for stress? Anyone got any cures? ANYONE?
I'll check back in with you guys late tonight, provided I make it through this very, VERY long day ......
Oy.

Hey Sis,
Take a deep breath. Everything will be OK. Darn those UTI's.
Can you take a preventative Imodium just in case for the 1 1/2 hr no bathroom problem. Don't forget to take all your meds with you.
If you had a Xanax that would really help you. I don't think I ever heard you mention that you take those, though. Darn! It would really help.
Sis, just remember that I will be thinking about you and wishing you not to be so stressed. Hang in there. Maybe you will see the deer again today. What a treat that would be. Yeah, just think about those beautiful deer and you will be just fine.
Good Luck Barbie

Deep breathing and taking it one hour at a time.
Hang in there, honey, the worst will soon be over!

You're probably long gone by now, but next time maybe listen to one of Michael's sessions! I'm amazed by how much those things relax me!
It'll all get done, Bev, and then you'll be a very happy camper (or, er, farmer).

Chocolate for me baby!!!! Since I have started the hypno CD's when I am stressed I look forward to my session with Michael.
If your move is anything like mine I didn't have time to listen to the CD's though. I was so stressed and sore every night I went to bed feeling like I was 90.
Take a deep breath and focus on one thing at a time. I found that if I thought about everything that had to be done my stress level was worse.
Wish we all lived closer and then you would have lots of help. Of course, what would all of us do not having access to a bathroom for 1 1/2 hours at the same time. Makes ya laugh just thinking about it.
I have never had a UTI so I can't be much help there. Sounds like you are doing what you can without going to the doc. Hopefully it will work.
Hang in there. I'll be thinkin about ya.

It's amazing, in a sometimes horribly inconvenient way, that our bodies are so sensitive to parts of our lives we think are under control. I think maybe my body has saved me from losing my mind by forcing me to sit still for a day or two with whatever ailment it can. As for stress relief, try this. Think, with a lot of awareness, a sentence about things you do. "I am drinking a glass of cranberry juice and it's delicious." "I am taping this box shut and it's one less I have to pack." Just something small and optimistic to keep you in the moment, and from thinking of 12 things at once. Good luck!

good luck Bev- moving is never easy.. I have a different issue- the contractors are finally back to finish reconstruction on the house (we had a fire last fall and tried to get a loan for a master bedroom addition before they finished the work) and I am afraid of what condition the house will be in each day!
I breath deep and knit/crochet a lot.. I also paint- crafts and knitting keeps my stress levels down.. DH teases me that my stress flows out through my fingers when I'm knitting... thus I knit a lot while here at work...

Hi,
Your idea sounds great. I will have to try it. That's one of my stress problems that I have a hard time concentrating because I am worrying about so many things at once. Trying to focus on the thing I am doing at the time...even saying to myself what I am doing at the time.... sounds like it might help.
Thanks for the idea.

Some great ideas here! You're very clever. I think they'll actually work! Thanks -- I'm gonna try 'em.
The move was gruesome. I'm so glad it's over. The bottoms of my feet are throbbing. So glad to return to the condo to take a shower and have dinner. Now we just have to move the CONDO!
Oy.
Thanks again!

I survived. Yaay.
It was gruesome, truly. It's great seeing all the stuff I haven't seen in 3 years, but I'm overwhelmed with all the stuff we have and the work ahead of us now, unpacking everything and trying to find a place to put it all.
Hubby says The Farm is WAAAY too crowded, and we need to get rid of a lot of stuff. I agreed to toss out an old antique, beat-up, steamer trunk, an old microwave, and the lawn mower -- and that's IT. I think he's passified for awhile.
Meantime, guys (just between you and me), how am I gonna fit all our crap in that little farmhouse?! Oy.
I'm sure once all the boxes are opened and put away, it won't look nearly as crowded -- RIGHT?
Now we just have to go back down there and try to make room for everything to come out of the condo on Monday. We requested the same movers -- they were too cool. They kept giving me a hard time about all my heavy furniture, but I took it well. I'm a good egg. Besides, I was too exhausted to argue.
Tomorrow The Cable Guy comes. I can hardly wait.

Hey Sis,
It's good to hear you made it through the day OK and in one piece. I know you must be exhausted.
I shudder to think of moving all our "stuff" after 34 yrs in this house. The attic room alone would make me nuts....not to mention the garage. UGH! I know how you feel about "all the stuff". I'm sure you will find places for everything.
Is the Farm starting to look like home yet with most of your belongings there? I picture it so warm & cozy.
Bet you didn't mind throwing away that lawnmower, Huh?
Just continue being the "good egg" you are and you will come through this just fine.....not too much longer...YAY!
You & Jack have a nice evening

glad to hear its all working otu and your home safe.. you'll make it.. and yes- it will look better without the boxes, but you still may find a need to weed out possesions...
or store them elsewhere.. do you have some sort fo attic or garage...

I'm so happy for you Bev!!!! Hopfully in a few weeks you will be settled and you can enjoy your retirement years with hubby.
Promise me you won't become a HERMIT on the farm in those back woods. But again you and hubby can have some really fun times together (if you know what I mean ).

Bev, I'm glad you made it through your crazy day. I hear you about the stress, I'm under a lot of it right now myself. You got some great suggestions here, though!! Just hang in there and remember that when this is all over you'll be living in your dream house...
