It reminds me of Aunt Mattie's house in South Berwick! (Sob.)

Casey, it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm very happy for you. Also a little envious..... no, not a little, a LOT!

But don't worry about me; I'll just go out in the garden and eat worms....

Casey,

It looks fantastic! I LOVE the retro kitchen, too! Good for you!

How's the housing market in Maine? We live in southern California, and THANK GOD we bought our condo before the current housing boom, but you seriously need $500,000 now for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1960s fixer-upper in a decent neighborhood... So depressing!

Cute house and congrats.

I love old homes too. We have owned three homes and our current one is my favorite. We are the third owners and the previous owners updated the inside of the home. We even have a bathtub with jets and nine foot cielings on the first and second floor. I can go on and on, because I love my house.

Good luck with your move and enjoy the yard work.

Hey Casey,

I LOVE IT!!! It is a beautiful house and I know you must be so excited!!

I love doing yardwork, too. It really helps relieve my stress.

Don't get so busy with the new house that you forget about us.

Aaahhh! It's beautiful---and looks like it has so much character. How old is it? I bet you will have fun decorating it. Is it in good condition inside? Old wood floors?

Have fun! I'm excited for you! I love the style of house!

We paid $46,000 for it. And no, I didn't forget any digits in there. LOL!

The key to the market here is to move north. Right in Bangor, real estate is much more expensive - still cheaper than SoCal, but we really didn't want to spend $80K on a 2-bedroom house that we'd then have to drop another $20K in repairs into. So we started looking north, where the local economy, honestly, sucks. Adam will have a 1-hour-each-way commute to work now, but he thinks it's well worth it. A lot of families up here are taking that same route.

That's part of the plan, eventually! But honestly, we already have all 4 bedrooms filled. We knew when we started looking that we wanted a 3-bedroom - I work from home, so I need an office - and I'm tired of having computers in the bedroom (our current setup) - and we need to sleep somewhere. The 4th bedroom is kind of weird... it's technically an "inlaw apartment", with its own separate entrance off the back deck. So we're going to use that for a guest room, it's kind of inconvenient for anything else.

But anyway- thanks!
