Someone vandalized 32 of our city's trash trucks over the weekend so we may not get trash pickup for 2 weeks!!! Our trash can is overflowing now, and I can't imagine what it's going to smell like in this hot weather after it sits for 2 weeks/
What in the heck should we do with our trash in the meantime? The city won't let us put anything out by the curb that's not in the regular can (the truck picks it up with one of those automated "hands.")
Yikes! This is not gonna smell good! Surely the city will have to contract the service out with some other company.
Although we're in city limits and aren't not supposed to burn our trash, maybe we will have to protest and light a huge bonfire in the street!
But you know the crazy thing about it, the city admits the drivers leave the keys in the trucks overnight (in a locked fenced-in lot). Their reasoning---if there's a fire in one truck, they can start them all quickly and save the rest from going up in flames!
Duh! Can you believe they left the keys in them? Guess they never imagined some teenagers would go on a joyride, crashing the trucks into each other.

Gross! We are *lucky* right now because they are building a ton of houses right down the street - so there is a huge dumpster. It was really nice for moving in because we could just take all our trash down the street instead of waiting a week and having a TON on the curb.
I don't understand why people think it's fun to vandalize things. It's just immaturity and ignorance. I'm sorry, what a pain!

Can you get those stickers that allow you to put extra garbage out? We can do that here in Austin. I bet they might wave that though if you all are without service for extra weeks. I mean, you do pay for that service.
Yuck, I'm sorry about that.
