I am new user to this site, so please bare with me as im probably doing it all wrong. I have been reading the IBS diet and want to start it today.I have come across a problem already. Where can i get preservative free white bread with no insoluble fibre in it? ( And is it just me or is the peppermint tea a little yuck) !!

Yeah, peppermint tea takes a little getting used to. I find it's better if you make it as strong as you can (I literally let mine steep for 8-10 minutes) and then sweeten it a bit with sugar.
As for the bread... white bread would be a source of soluble fiber naturally, as long as it's not got any whole grains in it. (The whole grain breads, like whole wheat or 7-grain, are the ones with insoluble fiber.) Your grocery-store bakery should have some "fresh-baked" white bread (or French, or sourdough) that'll do the trick.
And welcome, by the way!

Welcome alliq! BTW in a pinch any white bread, even Wonderbread is better than nothing, although it certainly isn't a good solution long-term.

Welcome Alliq!
You've gotten some good advice already. You might want to post this one the IBS Diet messageboard for more replies.

On bread - I buy sourdough - yummy! But make sure it's plain sourdough and not the kind with wheat - since so many people prefer wheat bread some bakers will add wheat to thier starters, that's no good for us. Sourdough toast with a bit of olive oil is a great snack though, jam if you're more in the mood for something sweet. Pepermint tea - I'm not a fan either. I chew on altoids and every once in a while grab a leaf off the peppermint herb in my backyard, wash it lightly and chew it a bit and then spit out the leafy part once the oils are gone. If you don't have a peppermint plant, stick to the altoids - they're easier. Hope this is helpful and good luck. Min

Wheat is okay (unless you're sensitive, but that's a different issue) it's WHOLEwheat that's the problem.
