Thanks for the open arms guys.I just wanted to know if anyone has this problem.If I were to have sex in the morning before I have several bowel movements,I have severe pain in my anal area.I have been this way for 15 yrs.I know this sounds strange,but does anyone else have this or am I just strange? I will not do it in the morning no matter who it is. Even a supermodel would not sway me. Thats how bad it hurts. And if im having a bad stomach pain day, it will hurt me about the same.Oh well, maybe im not in the right room for this post. Thanks anyway, and you ladies are intertaining to me in here. Hmmmm. Well, obviously Jamie might have a better idea here, but I know that I find sex uncomfortable in the morning before the 1st BM of the day. Btw, anal pain is a (weird) symptom of IBS. It was one of the 1st symptoms that made me think something was really wrong.

Hey Bobster,
Sorry, I can't help you with that, I've been single ever since getting IBS Although I can say that mornings when I feel crappy, sex is the last thing on my mind (ok, maybe not the last thing, but definitely not the first!)
But, that being said if it's extreme pain, maybe talking to a doc might help. The only thought that I'd have about it is that lots of pressure is being put on your intenstines and they're already full.

Bob, we hear ya. When I have an attack, the last thing in the world I want is sex. Thank God my hubby understands!
You are SOOOO in the "right room for this post." Well, okay, so maybe the IBS Diet Board would be the normal one for IBS stuff, but we're flexible, ya know. It's just that some people never come into the Living Room (such as Heather), so if you want a response from her, ya gotta go to one of the other boards.
Bob, I think we all have to work around our IBS. That's just the way it is. I can't do ANYTHING until I have my morning poops. I'm a D, so I have several. There's NO WAY I could have sex before them! So that's just the way it is, it's no biggie. You can just get up early, do your thing(s), have a shower, and then climb back in bed with that super model -- and ENJOY!

Well Bobster....I don't get any kind of pain from sex but I totally understand not wanting to have sex in the morning!! My stomach is always a little uneasy when I first wake up...I need a little while to be awake and let my tummy calm down before I could even think about sex.
I do find though...that sex makes my stomach pain go away. Isn't that weird??? If my stomach hurts a bit before...then it's usually just fine right after. Maybe it's the adrenaline or something?? I have no clue...but it brings a new meaning to the song "Sexual Healing" ..hahaha...

Well, I dont think I've ever had the anal pain your talking about. Its hard for me to want sex when my belly is hurting but if I do and have a really big O my tummy will usually feel better after! I guess it just makes me relax all over!

i think i get something like that. (i'm a girl, btw.) sometimes, after i go, it's like this awful, all-consuming hollow pain and it feels like my intestine is just going to fall out of my body, is that what you're talking about? i get that in the morning sometimes and i HATE it! but fortunately the longest it lasts is about 5-10 minutes, for me anyway. (it is definately agonizing though.)
and on sex, yeah, i definately sneak out of bed and go take care of business before climbing back in for some nookie. luckily my boyfriend (of over a year) is the sweetest and completely understands if i'm not up for it at some time. if i'm all bloated and in pain there's just no way.
(i can't believe i actually finally feel comfortable talking about this stuff, and there's people who feel the same! maybe one day i'll post a pic..... not yet though )

Wow, thats great. Its just so hard to even THINK about sex when you don't feel good or your belly is so bloated you can't see your toes! Luckily, my hubby is pretty good at "getting me in the mood!" And he doesn't mind if I'm bloated and fat!

Michele and Kimm, I'm completely the same way.
If I'm feeling terrible obviously I'm not thinking about sex, but...
as long as there's five minutes or so that my stomach is doing OK - long enough for my bf to start getting me in the mood and so and and so on... - then suddenly all stomach pain is gone!
Perhaps its the endorphins and adrenaline or something. Running on the treadmill kind of has the same effect - but that's not nearly as fun!
