Hey Jen, thanks for the concern. I've just been pretty busy the past few days and don't have access to a computer at work. I've had a number of really early mornings leading to long days, so I haven't been much in the posting mood once I get home.
But I still do at least try and check the boards once a day. I like 'listening' to you guys

good, we were worried about our favorite pilot. Ya know my hubby got his pilot license a few years ago...just the little planes. I went up with him once. Made me sick!!! My son wanted him to keep doing the thing were you go up and then let down....kind of like a roller coaster...Oh I hate that!!!!
Anyways...flying got really expensive and he hasn't been up for a while. He loves it though!
Just thought I would share that with you! Glad to have heard form you!

Hi Steph,
Sorry you got sick from the flight. Don't give up, though; give it another chance. It's a lot of fun flying in a little plane like that. When my big brother was going to Stanford, he got his pilot's license and took me up with him. We flew all over the Bay area, over the Golden Gate Bridge -- it was FABULOUS! -- I kept asking him to "dip some more!" so I could get a shot of the bridge from directly above it. Ditto with Alkatraz. It was an experience I'll never forget -- even though it was with my dorky brother.

Steph,
sorry your experience in a small plane made you sick. Did you sit in the front or back? cause that makes a different (back is worse usually). The planes that I fly are pretty small as well so it can get pretty bumpy. But the 'roller coaster' effect can be pretty cool (only when there's no passengers on board of course).
The plane I used to be a co-pilot on was still small, but really fast (for a propeller plane) and we were able to fly as high as many commercial jets. When flying with another pilot you take turns flying and the pilot not flying talks on the radio to Air Traffic control. We were coming into an airport one night, I was doing the radios, just as I made my call the captain (as a joke) got us in a 90 degree bank (totally sidewards to the ground) in a weightless free fall descent. My radio call consisted of "Winnipeg radio we're ummmmmmmmmmm, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, 14 miles north of the airport descending through, uuuhhhhhhhhhh, 14,000 ft" It was fun, but I felt a little sick afterwards.
Bev,
I'm glad you enjoyed your experience in a small plane. It really is something quite fun. Even if I don't end up keeping it as a career I'm going to keep it has a hobby (although it's an expensive one)

Yay! I was starting to think I was the ONLY one who hasn't been in a small plane!
I would've been a pilot but I'm blind as a bat without me specs, so that was a non-starter!
