Hey Linz!
What do you guys over there call the kitchen appliance that is attached in the bottom of the kitchen sink that "eats up" the garbage?
In America, we call them garbage disposals. In Canada, they call them "garber-raters" In England, you call them -----?-------

We call them insinkerators (how cute are we to think of that name???) I have heard them called garbage disposal units though.

I believe that's a brand name. It was the brand that we installed in one of the homes we built in California.
Interesting that Canadians call them garber-raiders. I get a kick out of that.

I like insinkerator! That's a cool word! Ok well I dunno any other Brit words that are weird.....I studied Brit slang for a school project once and I learned a ton of words from that! But I never thoguht of garbage disposal. Good one, Bev!

I don't know! I call them garbage disposals cos the only place I've seen them is in the States! We are such a backward people sometimes!
