My doctor diagnosed me awhile ago with Gastritis, and I've been on Prilosec since then. Since then it's cleared up, but if I stop taking the meds I still get acid reflux..so I think I just have GERD now? I dunno. Anyway, so lately whenever I have a few beers I feel really sick after, and sometimes puke(and I don't mean even getting trashed, I'll feel sick after only 2 beers). Also one time a few weeks ago I randomly(no alcohol involved) felt sick and puked. I'd really like to be able to have a couple beers with friends on occasion, is there anything I can do? Should I go back to the doctor? Or you think she will just tell me not to drink? Is this from the acid reflux or is it the gastritis? I even tried taking 2 ultra strength Tums and it doesn't help.

Honey, I'd lose the beer if I were you. I know, I know -- I love my Jack, but I just can't drink it anymore -- so I DO know. It's just not worth it.
If giving up the beer doesn't solve the problem, I'd go back to the doc.

Noooooo! lol I don't want to give it up! I don't even drink that often. The thing is though, it didn't bother me like this before, only this past month this has happened. Before it bothered my reflux a little bit, but not like this. Maybe it will go away??

Hey there... I have GERD, and I'm on Nexium. Anyway, about two years ago I stopped being able to drink beer or wine. I can have the occasional raspberry martini, but there's something in beer and wine I just can't tolerate anymore. It started off where I would get sick after a couple of drinks and progressed to where I couldn't have even a few sips.
It does suck that you can't drink with your friends, but if it makes you sick is it worth it? It wasn't for me. But everyone's different!

the doctor put me on nexium, it feels better now but i cannot drink nor do i find the reason for me to force it on myself and get sick...i cant handle being sick specially if i do it to myself. I would lose the beer, but that is your call to make.
