LOL Well when I'm around 800 kids all day, there's no escape!! So I don't think one stall that 20 people have been in is gonna kill me now!!

Ok Mags thats the one I was going to say. That I use my foot to flush the toilet. But first If I'm in that not much of a hurry, I pre-flush.Just to make sure that it is working properly. Then put tp on seat ,do what I have to do, use tp to open door, then wash hands, use paper towel to open door, then use PURELL to disinfect hands. Not saying that all Canadian restrooms are cleaner... Sue

Lol, you girls are hilarious! Shell, I can just imagine you yelling at people to get their dirty hands away from your toweling! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
It's actually very ironic that this topic came up, because just yesterday I went to a "bloodborne pathogens" seminar that's required for people working with kids in NY state. The professor talked about this very thing! Well, she discussed all the ways you can catch diseases in general, but the bathroom was covered. It was actually gross all the things she mentioned that I never really thought about. I don't know if I ever want to go out in public again!

You all are too funny!!! LMBO right now. The most important thing when washing hands is to wash them for 10-15 seconds and wash with fingers pointing down. And never shake the water off your hands.
Just some tips I learned in Nursing School.

Urggh! But If you don't then all the water runs down your arms when you are getting the towel out of the dispenser.
And so......this is why we should get the towel ready before we wash our hands! LMBO ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Getting the towel ready is really important. I never touch the faucet after I wash my hands -- it ain't clean! -- if I did, I'd just get my hands dirty all over again. I have the towel ready, so I dry my hands quickly after washing -- yes, the water is still running, THEN I turn the water off WITH THE TOWEL, not my nice clean hands. I use the towel to open the door, then toss into the trash. (Ever notice how the trash basket is always close to the door? That's why, folks!)

Yes, the trash is usually close to the door.....or you can practice your free throw shots and try to hit a three pointer from across the room. Or...the one that gets me are those trash cans with the flippy floppy door on them that you have to push...in that case I just throw the towel on top or on the floor near the trash. I aint touchin nottin!

Oh! So YOU'RE the one who keeps throwing your dirty icky towel on top of the trash, only to have it fall on the floor?!?
I hate those trash cans too. I use my left elbow to open the door, then toss the towel in with my right hand. The problem I have is when the trash can is stuffed full, then I have to be real careful that my fingers don't touch the other towels when I toss mine in. Takes a lot of dexterity. In such cases, this is a good time for me to put on my gloves.
