I can't find Imodium chewables anywhere in my town any more! All the slots on the shelves for Imodium are empty!! Ugh! Is there a recall? I've seen it gradually decrease on the shelves like they aren't restocking...now it's empty! Can't even find the chewables available online!

I can't even find the quick dissolve anywhere on the shelves here in my town. All the spots on shelves are completely empty. Have been for almost a month now. I keep Imodium in stock in my medicine cabinet...so I do have some, but am running low and need to restock. Not sure what I will do when I run out. I bought some Pepto the other day just in case, but it doesn't work as well.

Bad news here too... They stopped selling Immodium Advanced chewables with simethicone (the gas reliever) about 8 months ago.
If I'd have known, I would have stocked up. They have something called "Imodium A-D EZ Chews" which unfortunately has sorbitol and mint flavoring, which plays hell on my GERD. Anyway, with IBS, WE're supposed to stay away from the sugar substitutes, so it beats me why they pump that junk into IBS medicine.
I get a loperamide 2mg Rx from my doc for 120 pills, which are usually gone in 2 weeks, but are great when I have them!
In France, they make the pill filler with milk products, as they do in Ireland the last time I was there in 2007. In the States they use corn.
BTW, this is the second time in 5 years that I've had IBS meds pulled off the market, the first when they stopped selling IB-Stat!!?!
Whyyyyyyyyyyy????

I even e-mailed Imodium and asked them....this is the reply I got.... "We would like to answer your question in this e-mail; however in this case, we would be better able to help you over the phone." Then they gave me a phone number and reference code. I haven't called yet.
