I posted this once and for some reason it did not show up.
I saw you posted on the Eating board, so I thought I would drop you a line. Gittin beat up again, I see. Can't you stay out of twouble? Just kiddin.

How are you? How is the weather now? After our blizzard, it has stayed mild (for winter, that is). I know you were getting heavy precip and it was knocking trees down. Now, Cali needs the precip, but not all at one time.

Remind me again, what part of CA you live in? I believe you said you live close to Frygirl? I haven't seen Frygirl post for awhile, have you? I wonder how she is doing.

Good morning, Gerikat...

The weather here is quite cold and drizzly-rainy pretty much constantly these days. Those horrific downpours that we were having have subsided, as have the high winds of up to 60mph. That was not fun as trees fell everywhere and many roads were blocked due to fallen trees, also power outages.

I live in the lower part of northern CA, about 90 minutes east of Sacramento and about 90 minutes west of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Frygirl lives in the San Francisco-Bay Area where I initially lived most of my life. No, I haven't heard from Frygirl since the holiday season. We all have a lot on our platters these days and sometimes it can prove difficult to keep up with corresponding to everyone.

Nice to see that you are still around and doing well.

Jeez, that sounds pretty depressing. Hey, have you ever been over to Tahoe? I would love to visit that part of the country. I have heard wonderful things about San Francisco. I have been as far as Arizona, but didn't make it to CA. Do you worry about earthquakes at all?

Frygirl started her own site at Ning. Several from here go over there to chat. It is very open and you can bring up pretty much any kind of treatment or discussion. Much more open. I haven't been over there for awhile, though.

Well, later!

Lake Tahoe is absolutely beautiful! I'm not a gambler so I haven't been there often in recent years. There are wonderful buffets at the casinos that are extremely affordable. One of my past favorites was the one at Harrah's that was located at the very top of the hotel. Window seats were the ultimate in dining. I could sit there with a friend for 3 hours and just enjoy the variety of food and look out the window at the beautiful scenery. It was my idea of a perfect day trip to Heaven!

While San Francisco isn't all as exciting as some of the travel brochures might lead one to believe, I sure do miss the fresh seafood from there. You can walk along the boardwalk where the fishing boats come in mid-day and smell the fresh crab and lobster coming from the steaming pots right on the street from the vendors. It was fun walking around with a large cup of fresh crab with sauce and lemon on it. Then later have a late lunch or early dinner which included clam chowder and a lobster meal in one of the restaurants overlooking the bay.

It may not be as good as in the brochures but it sure sounds like Heaven to me.

Hey Gerikat,

I live halfway between SF and Tahoe. If you ever come to California, I'll give you a bed for the night before you travel up higher. I'll even feed you IBS safe food!
